You are no longer limited to one scan group entry per channel. The scan groups can include and mix of DMR or analog channels. This allows the priority channels to be interwoven in the scan list.

The 6X2 records a transmission and stores it in memory. Immediately after the incoming signal is dropped, the transmitter keys and re-transmits the recorded audio. The re-transmission can be either on the same or different frequency not necessarily on the same band.

This feature allows the 6X2 to be used as a relay point during events such as marathons, races, etc. There is a Call End indicator at the bottom, but the data remains.

The power levels hold pretty close to the specifications. There are four power levels with a high of 5. I personally run mine in 5W mode.

What I do like is the low power mode is less than 1W. I run a hotspot here and if the power was only 0. My audio reports have been excellent both through a DMR hotspot and the local repeaters. There is a five level microphone gain parameter that allows you to select the microphone gain level that best suited for your voice.

I use level 3 mid-level for a full smooth audio response. I tried level 5 and found the audio was way too hot. Battery removal requires a simple push of the release slide located at the top of the battery. No battery sliding or pushing is required.Your question may be answered by sellers, manufacturers, or customers who purchased this item, who are all part of the Amazon community.

I am looking for help on how to program the repeaters on the allocated repeater channels. There is some good info about that radio in another thread here in the forum. If that info doesn't answer all your questions, please let us know in this thread and we can take it from there Posted 21 January - PM.

I have one and use it often. To program the radio using chip is not hard once you understand what info goes where. I will try to explain it so I don't confuse you. For example using a repeater on channel If the input is If you have a PL tone of That should get your repeater channel programmed in. If you have any other questions, I will try to answer them. Posted 22 January - PM. Thanks to both of you all your help is much appreciated I am getting contact with the repeater that is local to me.

Glad it's working. Trying to work out all the settings with the different frequency and tones and offsets makes my head spin. There are a lot of very knowledgeable and friendly people on this site that have helped me either directly or indirectly with explanations on things.

If you have anymore questions please ask and someone will have the answer or know where to direct you. Enjoy the GMRS community.I was in the market for a handheld GMRS radio to be used primarily for outdoor recreation — mountain biking, camping, hiking, fishing, etc. The cheap Chinese radios that have flooded the market in recent years have elicited mixed feelings from hams and other radio folks, so I was a bit skeptical at first.

Because some of these radios lack any type-acceptance and can be capable of transmitting all across the VHF and UHF spectrum, they are often associated with illegal activities — on both sides of the law. GMRS Channels and are hard coded into the transceiver.

Here is the complete list of pre-programmed frequencies and channel assignments in the radio:. CHRIP is an excellent alternative, and has a large user base to provide support and help answer questions. The included user manual for this radio is actually useful, unlike some Chinese radios. The manual was written in English not translated and clearly explains every feature of the radio.

The fact that the channels are pre-programmed and cannot be modified can be a turn-off to some users, but this appears necessary to gain the FCC Part 95A certification. This is not a huge drawback for me, however. As far as the construction of the radio goes, it is made of plastic, but it does feels solid. There are no parts on the radio that look particularly cheap or may easily break. The belt clip could maybe be a little beefier, but it works just fine. Reception with the included antenna was surprisingly good, though audio does get a bit distorted at the highest volume.

The Uniden scanner has a fairly decent antenna, a Diamond dual band high gain antenna, but the repeater would often not break the squelch. Transmission was also equally impressive. From the top of South Mountain I was easily able to hit all the area repeaters. I have received signal reports from a few AGRC members and others that my transmission was loud and clear. The HT also works surprisingly well from inside my truck. Outside the vehicle at ground level the radio also performs well, though as with all VHF and UHF radios, a clear line of sight is best.TinaKris220, United States Icelandic Winter Highlights, March 2015 I wanted to go to Iceland and was going by myself.
